Hi! This is Dee Dee Grant, 4th grade teacher at Chadron Intermediate School. I have been with Chadron Public Schools since 1999, seventeen years in 3rd grade, and since then in 4th grade. I taught previously from 1996 to 1998 in the rural schools, 4th through 8th grade. It has been a great adventure. My career has also included serving as the Chadron High head softball coach for twelve years retiring in 2011with lots of great memories and experiences. I was the activities coordinator for the after-school program for four years, Kamp Kenwood teacher for five years, and current science camp director. I served as a junior high basketball coach for seven years and coached various levels of volleyball at CPS. I had the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for Nebraska in science education and attend the NASA Kennedy Space Center for a training in 2012, and I was fortunate enough to present in the area of science at National After-School Conference in New Orleans in 2013. After hating science when I was in school, I somehow became the "Miss Frizzle" of our school. Education has been a very rewarding career for me, and I am thankful for all the opportunities and continue to enjoy the challenge.
My husband Bryan and I have two terrific grown children. We are happy that they both live in Chadron so we can share family time! I have been fortunate to watch my daughter follow in my footsteps as a teacher and coach. My family enjoys sports and going on adventures. I enjoy cooking, reading, going to auctions and e-baying, and working in my yard in my spare time.
