Spring Cleaning for CARDS Club

Students at CIS did some spring cleaning indoors and out at CARDS Club on Friday showing pride in our school!  We are proud of our students for all their hard work!  See our students in action in the photos below.

Are you wondering, "What is CARDS Club?"

C.A.R.D.S. stands for Caring, Appreciative, Respectful, Dependable, Successful!  We have been encouraging CARDS behaviors all year, and on full Fridays, we have "Cards Club."

Each staff member in our building has a small group of about eight students, and we meet from 8:00 to 8:30 on full Fridays.  These groups change regularly with students getting to intermix with each other as well as get to know all of our staff members.  During Cards Club, we complete various team building activities promoting kindness, confidence, pride, understanding, teamwork, and other character building activities.  This is our first year implementing this, and staff and students have been very pleased!

Coming up with regard to our CARDS positive behavior plan will be "Compliments for Classmates" and the "Talent Show."  We are just getting started with "Compliments for Classmates"--Ask your student about it.  This is a great activity that is based on an event in our theme book, The Best School Year Ever, which each class read at the beginning of the year.  Also, below is our calendar for April Acts of Kindness!
