2016 NEBRASKA STUDIES FIELD TRIP

It was windy and a little chilly, but a no rain or snow, and 4th grade students had a great time visiting Chimney Rock and Scott's Bluff National Monument.  It was great to culminate our studies over the year with a hands-on adventure!

RE:  Nebraska Program

We have begun our preparations for our Nebraska Program.  Students have chosen a notable person from Nebraska to represent.  Although we have begun researching these famous people at school, your student may want do additional reading or researching at home.  Once their report is done, I will send an extra copy home so they may practice memorizing it at home as well.  Students will need to dress to represent their character.  We have many costumes and clothing items here at school especially items for the pioneer, Native American, and more vintage characters.   However, students may need your help especially if they have a more modern person or a sports figure.  The program will be on May 10th; however, I do not know the time yet.  This is an exciting time in 4th grade with many preparations and activities going on to support the Nebraska History curriculum.  We hope that you will enjoy this time of learning with your child!!  Thank you for your support.

VOLUMES OF RAINBOWS

Here are pictures of my 4th graders learning about measuring the volume of liquid matter!  If they followed the lab directions accurately, the cups displayed the colors of the rainbow, each color equal in milliliters.
